Motivational Thought

Changed in His Presence

Continue, continue, continue…

An old Anglican priest gave a brief greeting at the leadership conference I participated in this weekend. His nuggets of wisdom motivated me to love more and lead from a servant’s heart. Perhaps this will encourage you as well.

*Accept the model that Jesus gives. “For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45, NIV). Don’t substitute any other model but Jesus’ model of selflessly serving others.
*Make yourself available. A Christian leader uses his influence for the good of God’s kingdom, not for his own gain. A Christian leader is not a “lord” but uses his position of authority to bless God and others.
*Be all in. Love and serve God wholeheartedly. Persevere Read Matthew 28:19 together. How can the Great Commission still be made relevant to today’s culture regardless of the challenges?

The old priest ended his brief remarks with these words, “Continue, continue, continue.”

His final words remind me of Galatians 6:9, 10, AMP, “Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers). “ “Continue, continue, continue.”
